In this series of abstract acrylic paintings, I explore the dynamic tension between control and surrender, the painter’s hand against the unpredictable flow of the material, as a metaphor for humanity’s fraught relationship with nature. Like a river both shaped by and shaping its banks, these works capture the interplay between human intention and the autonomy of the natural world.
Under my brush, the paint is coaxed into organic fractal patterns, echoes of topographical riverbeds, leaf veins, and ocean currents, yet it also asserts its own agency, resisting containment, pooling, branching, and dispersing in ways both volatile and intentional. Through this duality, I reflect our collective challenge: to harness natural resources without overriding the intelligence of the systems we inhabit.
To witness one of these paintings is to experience the push and pull between force and formlessness, human intent and ecological autonomy. It is an invitation to reimagine our role, not as conquerors of the Earth, but as co-creators within its rhythms. The paintings stand as reminders that when we align with consciousness as the primary ground of being, not matter, our creative responses, like our stewardship, can become acts of harmony rather than domination.
